Clocks
18th c. Tallcase New Hampshire Clock

A New Hampshire Cherry Tall case Clock Circa 1795 with Original
eight day weight driven brass movement fronted by a white painted
enameled dial decorated with geometric spandrels and a lovely urn
and floral motif in the central arch. The dial is stamped “Osborn
Manufactory, Birmingham” on the back and is typical of dials of the
period painted in Boston. The finely proportioned cherry case is
surmounted by a graceful swan’s neck  pediment as well as three
brass finials on reeded plinths. The waist section is centered by a
beautifully arched door with moulded surround flanked by fluted
quarter columns with wooden capitals thereby giving the waist a
very appealing visual presentation supported by a finely shaped
bracket footed base. The clock movement has been properly cleaned
and serviced and is in excellent working condition. The case has a
nice dry old surface.

The overall height is 93 ¼” including the center finial.
